The Wikipedia article for Giclée claims that the term was coined in
1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne.

article that displays a clipping labeled "This is the first-known use
of the word "giclée" in print (note misplaced accent). From the Bartz
Studio newsletter for ArtExpo California, Fall, 1991."

The clipping says "totally revolutionary digital process called Gicleé
by Nash Editions."
