This may very well be the same definition of 2.a.i I cited from the OED in my November 3rd email. I didn’t provide the definition which is: "transitive. To cause (a person) to remember someone or something; to cause (a person) to remember or think (again) of. Also intransitive."

Under the transitive verb definition 2ai, the OED has one intransitive verb example:
1891 It will recall and remind and suggest and tantalise, and in the end drive you mad.
