*Myaamia Center at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio*
The Director of Technology and Publications will oversee the technological
development of the Myaamia Center, manage the Center’s web hosting
(including multiple Wordpress installations) and respond to growing needs
in the area of video, audio, and photographic documentation, software
development, public and social media, preparing publications, website
management, and other related needs as they arise.
*About the Myaamia Center*
The Myaamia Center (www.myaamiacenter.org) is a tribally supported
interdisciplinary research center that serves the research and development
needs of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma as it pertains to language and
cultural education. The Myaamia Center is directly supported by the Miami
Tribe of Oklahoma and Miami University. Anyone committed to helping
perpetuate Miami language and culture for future generations is welcome to
participate and encouraged to apply.
*About the Position*
*Require:* Bachelor’s or equivalent in Communications or related multimedia
field; relevant experience with, and knowledge of, photography and video
production; ability to operate recording equipment (including cameras and
video equipment) in an outdoor youth camp environment which includes day
hikes into a wide range of ecological areas; knowledge of Digital Asset
Management to control the center’s photographic and video resources;
proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications, particularly Lightroom,
Premiere, Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator; web hosting knowledge, including
Wordpress, knowledge of FTP, and basic HTML; ability to solve technological
challenges as they arise, manage Center web hosting, stay up to date with
developments in computer software and hardware; ability to travel regularly
by car and plane and be willing to interact with the tribal community in a
variety of professional and social settings.
*Desire:* Master’s or equivalent in Communications or related multimedia
field; experience in project management, communications, public relations.
