Ross,

thanks for the reference and the wonderful wordlists I had not known
of. I have just one question to the second wordlist (Island of Moyses):
could it be that the words for 'raw wood' and 'bread' got exchanged,
because _sagu_ is obviously 'sago-bread'. What then would surprise me
is finding a sound-alike of Malay _pohon_ 'tree' as first component
in _pouhonnori_ ('raw wood'?). I say "sound-alike" because, without
further corroborating data, I'd rather not stick my neck out so far as
to declare it a "cognate".
