[An-lang] December 30: Austronesian After Dark – Trial Zoom Gathering

Dear colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well during the holiday season.
I apologize for sending another message – this will probably be the last one before the event.

The website is now almost complete. I will continue to make small updates, but the event details (date and Zoom settings) remain unchanged.

As mentioned in my previous posts on AN-lang, I am organizing a small Zoom series called Austronesian After Dark – a relaxed space primarily aimed at mid-career scholars (roughly 35–50 years old) with a serious interest in Austronesian linguistics, to catch up, share recent readings, or discuss deeper academic topics. Established senior colleagues are of course most welcome to join and share their insights. In the longer term, the series will also provide opportunities for full-length academic presentations (e.g., 20–40 minute talks with Q&A).

The first trial gathering will be held on December 30, 2025, from 21:00 to 21:30 JST (a short 30-minute session).

This initial meeting will be a simple holiday meet-and-greet – an opportunity to introduce ourselves and chat briefly.
If you met me at this year's SEALS, were surprised by my recent posts about the Prof. Blust-related topics, or are now wondering "Who is this organizer?", please feel free to drop in. Camera and audio off are perfectly fine – just come and listen if you prefer.
