Subject: fish names query
Hello,
I am conducting a study of the variation in fish names in Arabic (there is a
good deal of variation!). I have a few references both Arabic and non-Arabic:
Amami, Asmak al-mutawassit
Davidson, Mediterranean Seafood
Latoui, Ichtyonymie Marocaine
Some FAO sources
Does anyone know of any other works dealing with Arabic and fish? Did any of
the classical writers address the issue?
thx
