Dear Kirstin,

I am currently teaching a group of five children ages 6/7 years who
speak Arabic as their mother tongue but do not read or write in
Arabic ( very common situatio for Arabs in the states)to read and
write. I ended up developing my own materials specifically games
based on the desired outcomes for each session/number of sessions
such as Bingo and memory games and word-picture matching games. It
DOES MAGIC..They learn through play. they are intersted in learning
( asked to have daily sessions) and are able to generalize what we
are learning( read words at home).

Best,
Reem
