Choate Summer Arabic Study
Abroad Program for High School students

Choate
Rosemary Hall will be offering High School students the opportunity to
immerse
themselves in the Arabic language and Arab culture by spending 4 weeks in
Amman, Jordan from June 10th till July 10th.  The program will offer Modern
Standard Arabic
(at a level appropriate to proficiency) and intensive Jordanian colloquial
classes. Students will also explore Jordanian History and will learn about
traditional Islamic arts. Students on the program will live in pairs with
Jordanian families, which will help them improve their spoken Arabic and
discover Jordanian social customs and traditions.

The
program uses the Georgetown Arabic language textbooks by Brustad, al-Batal
and
al-Tonsi (MSA) and materials developed by Al-Qasid Institute (colloquial).
