FREQ for counts within specific boundaries

Hi all, another question from a newer user.
I am wondering whether it is possible to use the FREQ (or other) command to
calculate frequency counts within a specific, user-defined context (and not
on the entire .cha file). That is to say, could I add some sort of symbol
to the transcripts, such as brackets, and run FREQ on the files to *solely *produce
counts for speech within the boundary I have created?
I hope this question makes sense — let me know how/if I can clarify! Thank
you so much.
