He wrote a cute little book in 1982 of his reminiscences, concerning his
childhood in the 1920's and 30's near Mt. Adams, WA.

"...when the Indians would roll
into the huckleberrying camp and shout out a greeting that sounded like
'Clahowya Six', my dad, with a big grin on his face, would call back,
'Clahowya Seven!'"
