Speaking professionally, Jeff, I'd say your comments were rather well
put. We cannot be sure what the febrile, bloody disease (not smallpox)
was that helped along with cutting the native population.
By the way, it may yet happen that poliomyelitis may be the next disease
to go -- the Western hemisphere is free (except for strains from vaccine
itself), and we once hoped that measles (also a disaster for the natives)
would also be wiped out, but they are more resistant to our efforts.
