>>>On Sunday, February 14, Visiting scholar Dr. Gordon Bronitzky will be
>in
>>>the Ben Linder Room at 1:30 to speak on a panel of community members
>>>(including Dean Strickland from the Law School) about common issues to
>>>Jews and Native Americans, such as Land, Language, Assimilation,
>>>Education, Media Stereotypes. Reception to Follow in the MCC.
>>>
I assume this is all at University of Oregon? What's "the MCC"? (I'm
familiar with it as "Metropolitan Community Church" (a predominantly gay
Protestant denomination) and as "Mennonite Central Committee", and
obviously it could be the Community College of any location starting with
M, but none of these seems likely in a UO context...

>>>This Friday, Gordon Bronitzky speaks at 8:00 at Hillel, Following
>Shabbat
>>>Service and Dinner at 6:00 and 7:15, about his experiences working
>with
>>>the Navajo community, his knowledge of historical events pertinent to
>Jews
>>>and Native Americans, and other similar topics.1059 Hilyard Street
>(11th and
>>>Hilyard), 343-8920.

Sounds like the sort of talk I, neither Jewish nor First-National (looks
like a banking term, maybe IPA would make it clearer) yet the proud
possessor of both a Yiddish and a Lushootseed webpage, would enjoy.
