how did you come to the Jargon?

C'mon, people! It's nearly a week since I sent out my request for personal
reminiscences about how you came to the Jargon (or it to you), and so far
I've had four responses (and all very good ones, thank you - you know who you
are). How about some more, especially from those of you who have lived in the
area all your lives (I've only been here for half of mine - though that's a
lifetime for some of you, I suspect!)?
