Mike, No, 'coulee' and 'cooley' haven't the same source actually ! The first one is from French 'coulee' (flow, from 'couler', to flow), the second one apparently from 'courir' (to run) taken from its imperative form 'courez !' (run !)... R and L !!! Yann.
