Harmon's book

Alexandra Harmon has also done some more extensive writing
on the Jargon in an unpublished piece, much of which I cite
in the article I am writing on the Jargon around Fort
Vancouver. Her work is almost exclusively around the Puget
Sound area, and Dave is right, her book is excellent. It's
easily the best single book on Pacific Northwest Indians.

I am a newcomer to CJ, but I will be working on some CJ
research for the next several months. In May I will present
a paper on the Jargon at Fort Vancouver, 1824-1853, at the
North American Fur Trade Conference in Canada. Before that,
if it is okay, I would love as many of you to comment on my
paper as possible. I will send it to the list, but first I
need to know if everyone can use attachments. The rough
draft I have now is about 15 pages or so, and it will expand
to probably 25-30 by the time I'm done.

Has anyone ever attempted a comprehensive bibliography of CJ
sources? If not, I'll likely try to put one together (with
all of your help, if possible). My guess is that the
archives of this list have a pretty good list scattered
throughout and it's just a matter of compiling it.

I've intended to start learning the jargon, but I am so busy
right now that something along the lines of the web or radio
courses many of you have suggested would be ideal for my
circumstances. Any ideas how I might access such a thing
from Davis, CA?
