I had hunted for this earlier today but due to differences of
spelling I couldn't find the relevant passage online until I got more
context from Alan's message.
Regards,
Jeff
P.S. The Early Canadiana Online (www.canadiana.org) Web site had
some problems last week, just in case someone tried to look at some
of their stuff I had linked to from my site. It's back up.
P.P.S. I have finally OCR'd the copy of W.S. Philips' "Chinook Book"
I've had for three or four years now, and hope to have it added to my
dictionary page in HTML in a few days. An odd but colorful
dictionary.
