...speaking of kamchadal and northern influences, the Chukchee language shows [tainat] for 'food,
dried fish (chiefly dog-salmon)' (Bogoras 1917:125) (n=voiced velar nasal).  this is somewhat
similar to Nez Perce [taNat] (N=glotallized) 'salmon pemmican', 'ground salmon, pounded salmon' and
Sahaptin having a similar form and meaning as NP (but i don't have my dictionary handy)...pretty
interesting i think.
