Page 11:  "[M]y wife, Margie...selected the list of Chinook Jargon that is
included..."  [It's on pages 125-131.  I'll have to put some research into
determining the sources of the vocabulary she included.--Dave]

Page 78:  [Excerpt from Henry L. Abbot, U.S. Army Corps of Topographical
Engineers, "Explorations for a Railroad from the Sacramento River to the
Columbia River", 1856]  "August 22...Their [the Klamath Indians']
intercourse with the Oregon settlements had taught many of them to speak
the Chinook, or Jargon, language, and one had a slight knowledge of
English."

Jargon vocabulary section:  There are some interesting items here.  "Cultus
smoke" for 'fog'.  "Halo kumtux kapswalla" for 'honest', perhaps
with "kumtux" as a habitual aspect marker.  "Ten tens" for '100'.
