Kla-Mo-Ya

The tribes of the "Klamath" reservation in Oregon have a casino named Kla-
Mo-Ya.

This stands for Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin, the tribes of the
reservation.

It doesn't have much to do with the regionally common CJ word klahowya, as
far as I can tell.

Interestingly, one of you wrote to me a couple years ago about having seen
a sign by the road for a business you recalled being named Klamowya. (A
motel, maybe; it was unclear at the time.)

A google.com search for Klamowya turned up nothing when I tried it a couple
days ago.
