Paper Salmon

Hi David.

About 9 years ago, I video taped an outdoor summer youth play called
"People of the Water".

It was recorded on the banks of the Little Shuswap Lake and was a
compilation of stories told by Bear and Coyote (who each in turn tried
to outdo the other's story). One of the stories was about Salmon and
his mate who traveled from the ocean to the Shuswap territory. I
recorded making paper salmon at a Highschool class in Chase, BC. With
the variety of different salmon, each was mounted on a stick and as the
story unraveled, the salmon would run in schools or bob up and down,
according to the script.
