Nisika Community Services

The other day I overheard someone's employer pronounced (by the employee) 
as "niska" or "nissika".  

On inquiry I learned it's spelled Nisika and means something like "us".  

So it's a Chinuk Wawa name.

This is a social services agency in Victoria, BC.

I was told some people also pronounce it "nishka".  That's identical to 
most folks' pronunciation of Nisga'a.
