  Hi Stephanie,

The most simple way to say "We Have Always Been Here" in Chinuk Wawa would be:

(in the Chinook List's orthography): "kwansEm ntsayka miLayt yakwa"
(this version observes the way Chinuk Wawa is spoken at Grand Ronde, Oregon)

(in Jim Holton's orthography): "kwanisêm nêsayka mitlayt yakwa"

(in the 19th century English-based orthography of Gibbs & Shaw): "kwahnesum nesika mitlite yukwa"

Literal translation: "always we be here"

But I'm not the specialist, so maybe other more qualified List-members will correct me, if necessary.

  Best regards,
  Francisc

I am looking for an opinion on how this may be said: "We Have Always Been
Here"... I am Kalapuya, and would prefer it to be in the Chinuk language
more dominant in the Oregon area....does anyone have any ideas?

    Many Thanks.
