I was a little disappointed to realize that "Western Canadian" here meant
mostly the Prairies.  But as Bernard Schulmann has eloquently explained to
me, BC really didn't feel itself to be part of Canada until more
recently...and the feelings were mutual.

So there's very, very little CJ influence in the lingo recorded in this
little book.

I did find "Siwash" on page 41.  Two definitions are given:

* "a tribe of Indians" [oh boy, that old urban legend]

* "a mean, contemptible, worthless person; a term of address that is
intended to give offence, as "You Siwash!"

All in all, understandable stuff for a tome from The 'Peg.  I reckon only a
handful of Jargon words circulated in English beyond BC (in Canada).

Side note: in the short time I lived in Canada, my favourite TV show was
naturally "An American in Canada".  Anyone remember the young guy (Maura's
boyfriend?) who used to say, "Nobody chases biscuit like a Pegger"?  Never
heard that phrase anywhere else...
