Me comunico contigo con la finalidad de invitarte a participar en la
elaboración de propuestas para lograr la sede de la conferencia COLING.
La conferencia COLING es un evento que realiza cada dos años y que es
organizado por el Comité Internacional en Linguistica Computacional (CILC).
Estos encuentros han sido tradicionalmente los principales eventos
internacionales en el área y por lo general se alternan entre Asia,
Europa y América. Este año el encuentro se realizará en Alemania,
y precisamente en este evento el comité eligirá la sede
que corresponde al año 2004.

En vista de que en el ano 2004 el evento se llevará a cabo en América,
asi como también de que la participación de Latinoamérica ha
sido pobre (escasa o insuficiente), el comité recibirá con agrado una
propuesta para realizar la conferencia COLING en Latinoamérica.
El website de CILC señalado previamente, contiene información respecto
a la elaboración de una propuesta. Por favor transmite este mensaje
a otros colegas Latinoamericanos, tableros de anuncios e investigadores
independientes.

Dear Colleague,
I am writing to bring to your attention the COLING conference in
Germany this year, the biennial meeting organized by the
International Committee on Computational Linguistics. These
meetings have traditionally been the major international meetings in the
field and usually alternate between Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The 2004 meeting would normally be in the Americas, and the Committee will
award the site at the 2000 meeting. Latin America has been
underrepresented at the meetings, and in attendees, and the
Committee would welcome a bid to stage COLING in Latin America.
The ICCL website above contains information on how to present at bid.
Please pass this on to other Latin American aliases, bulleting boards
and individual researchers.
