[Corpora-List] fast scanner?

A rather unusual question for [corpora-list], but I believe many people on
this mailing list have a good answer to this question.

Our research lab is planning to get a fast scanner in the near future --
but we have no previous experience with this. Any recommendations,
suggestions, good/bad experiences with [super] fast scanners (autofeeders)
available on the market would be most helpful.

I will post a summary if there is interest.
