hi Klaus,

at the TALP Research Center (Tecnhical University of Catalonia),
we have developed some linguistic tools for Spanish and Catalan,
which are publically avaiable at:

  http://www.lsi.upc.edu/~nlp <http://www.lsi.upc.edu/%7Enlp>

  namely,

  Freeling <http://www.lsi.upc.edu/%7Enlp/freeling/>
  SVMTool <http://www.lsi.upc.edu/%7Enlp/SVMTool/>

the SVMTool is a PoS-tagger only, wheras Freeling includes tokenization,
sentence splitting, NE detection, date/number/currency recognition, PoS
tagging,
and chart-based shallow parsing.

we hope you find them useful,

  best,

  jesus
