Two tenure-line positions at Northwestern University:
 		       Syntax and/or Semantics

The Department of Linguistics at Northwestern University seeks to fill
two tenure-line positions starting September 1, 2006. We are looking
for candidates with a primary research interest in syntax and/or
semantics. Candidates with language breadth, methodological
versatility, and those who have analyzed experimental, field, or
corpus data in order to address theoretical issues are especially
encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to individuals whose
research interests mesh with those of the present faculty and who will
contribute to the department's active role in interdisciplinary
research and teaching initiatives. Although we expect to hire at the
rank of assistant professor, more senior candidates may also be
considered. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in linguistics or a related
field by the start date.

To receive fullest consideration, applications should arrive in the
department by December 1, 2005. Please send a CV (indicating an
e-mail address), statements of research and teaching interests,
reprints or other written work, teaching evaluations (if available),
and the names of three references. Candidates should arrange to have
the letters of recommendation sent directly to the search committee.
All materials should be sent to:
