Salary: £20,842 -- £24,161 per annum
There will be up to three positions in computer dialogue management
implementation and speech research,
depending on whether they are filled full or half time, the latter
having the possibility of studying for a PhD as
a staff candidate on this topic while working on the project. The
post is associated to the EU-funded Companions

project starting in 2006 and ending in 2010.

The post holders will participate in the Companions Project and be
responsible for developing and testing
programs for dialogue management systems that underlie a speech and
graphics interface for an artificial
companion. Applicants must have a good first degree or equivalent,
and a PhD would be an advantage,
for at least one position, as would experience in language processing
by computer. These are fixed-term
posts available for one year in the first instance. Details of the
