 A multi-disciplinary NLP group at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a
postdoctoral researcher to collaborate on a newly funded National Library of
Medicine project. Areas of focus include:

 

*	information extraction of clinical conditions from emergency
department reports
*	negation
*	uncertainty
*	temporal discrimination
*	finding validation
*	coreference resolution

 

Applicants should have a PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, Biomedical
Informatics, or a related field with a focus on Natural Language Processing.
Interest and experience in some of the following are desirable: information
extraction, corpus annotation, discourse processing, and empirical methods
for NLP. The term of the appointment is 2-3 years. Salary will include full
benefits. The targeted start date is July 1, 2007.
