There is also an American Assocation for (Applied) Corpus Linguistics -- not
to be confused with the Association for Computational Linguistics -- still
less with the Alberta Association for Community Living. ...
It does not seem to have a web site. If it does, I can't find it. But it
holds a conference from time to time. See below.

Is anyone aware of any collection of 'legitimate' (this may not be the best
word) email adverts, as opposed to unsolicited junk emails/spam? As an
example, emails advertising products from a company whose other products you
already use, rather than emails about Viagra and miracle weight-loss drugs.

We have been looking for a high-performing named entity tagger, but can't
find any that work well enough for our purposes or quickly enough (we are
batch processing lots and lots of data per day). Can someone recommend
one to us? The data we are processing is news data. We have tried
Lingpipe, GATE and OpenNLP and all have speed issues.

Hi Naveed,
I tested with both, and I could extract the corpus files from the archive files.
As you may notice from the suffix of the filename, they are tarred and
then gzipped.
Below I write the unix command to extract the corpus files just in case:
tar -xzf GENIAcorpus3.02.tgz
or
gzip -d GENIAcorpus3.02.tgz
tar -xf GENIA corpus3.02.tar
If you still have a problem with those files, please let me know.
