Workshop on Corpus Linguistics & Machine Translation Applications 2008 

China Center for Information Industry Development & Lancaster University

August 12-13 2008

CCID Building, 66 Zizhuyuan Road, Haidian District, Beijing


This workshop will be jointly organized by UCREL, Lancaster University
(a research centre on computer corpus linguistics), and CCID, the China
Center for Information Industry Development (a machine translation
application research institution with international fame). The workshop
is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
The Workshop on Corpus Linguistics & Machine Translation Applications
2008 will focus on Chinese-English Machine Translation (MT) and
corpus-based approaches in particular.

Researchers in the related fields are welcome to submit papers to the
workshop. Topics will include:
* Research and application of computer corpus linguistics in MT;
* Natural language processing technologies for MT; 
* Statistics-based machine translation research; 
* Research on machine translation applications for global businesses;
* Research on the application of language resources banks and
cross-language information retrieval;
* Other related researches in the field.
