Application: The application procedure for both lectureship and

STAGE 1. 'QUALIFICATION'

national selection ('qualification'). In order to obtain
'qualification', they should first apply online on the website of the
Ministry of Education and Research ('Ministère de l'Education et de la
Recherche') and register for sections 11 (English Studies) and 7
(General Linguistics) between September 9th and 14th October 2008.

They will then receive the names and addresses of two referees from
each CNU section, to whom the full application is to be submitted.
Applicants whose application has been accepted will be officially
notified in February 2009. 'Qualified' candidates for
teaching/research positions in French universities will then be
eligible to apply for any of the posts that will be advertised in
France for four years.

STAGE 2. 'RECRUTEMENT' (APPLICATIONS FOR SPECIFIC POSITIONS IN FRENCH
UNIVERSITIES)

Specific positions will be advertised on the Ministry's website in
February 2009. The closing date for applications is generally in late
March/early April. Short-listed applicants will be called for
interview in early May, and immediately informed of the University's
decision.

All the necessary information concerning ‘qualification’ and
application procedures can be found on the Ministry's website:
