[Corpora-List] Summary: BE, HAVE, and DO

Dear All
 
erm, just a quick summary of the postings to my query on BE/DO/HAVE.  
Contributions were not outrageously numerous but all the more substantial.  They 
included pointers to:
 
- a Frank Sinatra corpus (needs yet to be compiled but will show not  
previously attested n-gram "do-be-do-be doo")
- a great song phrase with the verb BE, the old classic "is you is, or is  
you ain't my baby?"
- the logic, or lack thereof, behind this old classic 
- a new academic field nerdily called porpoise linguistics and more  
conveniently called Arf! Arf! linguistics
 
Am I the only one to start thinking about unsubscribing?
