The Dictionaries department at Oxford University Press publishes monolingual and bilingual dictionaries and related language resources online and in print and also licenses content to third parties for use in a variety of digital products.

About the Role

As part of our dictionaries expansion programme we require a new Data Manager, who will join our inhouse Projects team and will be responsible for managing data review and data conversion of dictionary and related content from initial receipt of materials to final QA and delivery to external licensees or inhouse Project Managers . The role is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for high-quality new data for the world's best-known dictionary publisher and covers all aspects of the workflow from initial review and assessment, work plans, and schedules, to recruiting and managing editors and freelancers and liaising with Rights, technology, language engineering, and project teams.

About You

You will have
*

indepth experience of working with structured data such as xml
*

proven accuracy and eye for detail
*

editorial experience, ideally dictionaries or languages-related
*

excellent people management and organizational skills

You will be a fast and flexible worker, quick to learn new skills, and able to deal with competing priorities and deadlines. Basic text processing skills would be an advantage.
