The Dictionaries department at Oxford University Press publishes monolingual and bilingual dictionaries and related language resources online and in print and also licenses content to third parties for use in a variety of digital products.

About the Role

As part of our dictionaries expansion programme we require a new Project Manager, who will join our inhouse Projects team and will be responsible for setting up and managing bilingual dictionary projects from initial approval to final content launch / publication. The role is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for the creation of high-quality new content for the world's best-known dictionary publisher and covers all aspects of the editorial project from style and policy, work plans, and budgets and schedules, to recruiting and managing editors and freelancers and liaising with data, language engineering, Rights, and marketing teams.

About You

You will need
*

a strong languages background, at least to degree level (or equivalent)
*

dictionaries or languages-related editorial experience
*

excellent people management and organizational skills
*

ability to work with structured data such as xml

You will be a fast and flexible worker, quick to learn new skills, and able to deal with competing priorities and deadlines.

Knowledge of any of the following languages will be an advantage: Portuguese, Japanese, Arabic, Korean.
