[Corpora-List] PhD scholarships in Computational Linguistics and Machine Learning at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia

We're recruiting top PhD students working at the intersection of Machine 
Learning and Computational Linguistics to join our group at Macquarie 
University in Sydney, Australia.

Example research topics include:

  * syntactic and semantic parsing of text or speech, especially models
    which can be integrated with speech recognition or information
    extraction
  * generalisations of topic models to novel kinds of data (e.g.,
    financial data), or which are capable of learning sequential or
    hierarchical structure
  * computational models of language acquisition, especially those that
    rely on non-parametric Bayesian methods
  * machine learning and computational neurolinguistics, which applies
    computational linguistics and machine learning to predict brain
    responses during language comprehension

Successful candidates will need the following skills:

  * strong mathematical background in multivariate calculus and linear
    algebra
  * native or near-native proficiency in English
  * good programming skills
  * one or more publications on a related topic
