[Corpora-List] PALC 2014 Second Call for Papers

The 9th international conference on PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF LANGUAGE
CORPORA (PALC 2014) <http://palc.uni.lodz.pl/> will be held over 3
days, 20 to 22 November 2014 (arrival day 19 November), at the
University of Lodz Conference Centre in Łódź, Poland.

*TOPICS*

We accept presentation proposals on the following topics:

    - General corpus-based linguistics
    - Contrastive Studies and Language Corpora
    - Discourse and Language Corpora
    - ESP and Language Corpora
    - Corpus Search and Retrieval Systems
    - FLA/SLA and Language Corpora
    - Learner Corpora
    - Multimodal Corpora
    - Lexicography and Language Corpora
    - Translation and Corpora
    - Corpus-based Information Retrieval and Information Extraction Methods

A special theme of this year’s PALC edition will be the applications
of corpora and corpus linguistics methods in social sciences and
humanities. Special thematic sessions are planned on the following
topics:

    - Corpora in Social Sciences and Humanities
    - Corpus Approaches to Evaluative Language
    - Diachronic Corpus Studies
    - Uncovering Time in Language

*SUBMISSION DEADLINE*

Abstracts of papers should be up to approx. 600 words long and
submitted by e-mail to the organisers. The deadline for abstract
submission is 10 September 2014.
