The Rhetoric Program in the Department of English at Carnegie Mellon is
seeking to fill a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. We
are seeking a candidate with one or more of the following areas of
specialization:  information design, the relationship of verbal and visual
information, multi-media communication technologies in context,
writing/communication in organizations. Candidates should have some evidence
of research background and methods in one of these various areas. Candidates
will be expected to teach in an undergraduate information design track of
technical writing, in professional masters programs relating writing and
design, and in the MA and Ph.D. programs in Rhetoric.  Candidates who
combine a strong theoretical and research/scholarly record with a
demonstrated commitment to professional/technical writing
education will be preferred. Deadline for submission of materials, Nov 15.
