Please find some information re: the District 7450 Rotary
Ambassadorial Scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic calendar year.
- All interested parties must reside within the district's boundaries
which are roughly Philadelphia and its surrounding counties. Any
parties living outside this area are encouraged to apply to their local
Rotary District. By reside, Rotary means, where you pay taxes, are
registered to vote, where you take permanent residency etc.
- District 7450 gives two scholarships of $25,000 each year. One for
undergraduate and one for graduate students.
- The two main criteria are academic performance and community service.
- Each applicant should be knowledgeable of Rotary International's
efforts to provide "service above self".
- Information about Rotary and its programs can be found at
http://www.rotary7450.org/, or www.rotary.org.
- The deadline for completed applications is March 11th. No exceptions
will be made. Interviews will be conducted during the month(s) of
March/April and qualified candidates will then be a asked to meet with
the district committee sometime in May I believe (not sure on that date).
- Please forward me via U.S. mail your completed application, letters of
recommendation, and current resume/CV-
Address: Chris Wright
1500 Green Street, Unit F
Philadelphia, PA, 19130

Thank you very much for your interest in Rotary International and its
mission!
Best of luck to you all ~
Sincerely,
Chris

"Responding to adversity by deepening your engagement with your own life is
something one should always try to do. " Howard Norman, novelist
"Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved"
Yates
"I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of society but the people
themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise control with
a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform
their discretion by education."
Thomas Jefferson
"It is not upon you to complete the work, but neither
are you free to desist from it."
Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Fathers)
"Thus, the task is not so much to see what no one else
has seen, but to think about what nobody yet has
thought about that which everybody sees."
