Youth Proves No Barrier in the Language of Success

It took only eight years for 26 year-old Alexandra Kashleva to build a career
and start her own business. Having gained work experience at different
companies in Russia and abroad, just over a year ago she set up Language
Studio.

Born in 1979 in Alma-Ata in Kazakhstan into the family of a professional
military officer, at the age of three Kashleva moved with her family to
Leningrad, as it was then called, the place that has become a real “home city”
for her. “I grew up in St. Petersburg and always associated myself with it,”
she says.

A professional master of rhythmic gymnastics, Kashleva got her first job when
she was only fifteen. “I’ve always wanted to be independent and to earn money.
Sport has always played a key role in my life and I started working as a
fitness coach,” she says.

Having entered the English department at the Institute of Foreign Languages,
Kashleva managed to combine study with work from the first year. “I was hired
as a translator-interpreter at a company that specialised in exclusive
building services,” she said. “As a newcomer in business it was a huge
learning curve and I took a lot from that experience.”
