Assistant Professor of ESOL/TESOL Education  

 

Full-Time
Tenure-Track  

 

The successful candidate will teach courses in English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) to teacher education students, (2) assist other faculty members as needed in administering the ESOL/TESOL curriculum, and (3) address other instructional duties that the department may assign within the college's undergraduate/graduate teacher education programs, such as faculty development, and supervision of student teachers. Pursuit of a scholarly agenda and involvement in relevant professional service are also required.  

 

Required Qualifications

The candidate should: (1) possess a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field at the time of appointment, (2) possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in ESOL/TESOL from a regionally accredited institution with full ESOL/TESOL endorsement, and (3) have experience in K-12 settings, including sustained work with teachers.  

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have a terminal degree in ESOL/TESOL or linguistics an those who have college/university teaching experience.
