Should cell phones be used in classroom teaching?
Are cell phones in the classroom a signal of the end of civilization as you know it?
No way, says Liz Kolb, a former high school teacher. She says it's time to stop banning and start embracing cell phones in the classroom. She didn't always feel that way.
"I was a firm believer that cell phones didn't belong in school," says Kolb.
Kolb, now an instructor at the University of Michigan, used to write the policies on keeping cell phones out of the classroom. Now she's urging teachers to let the kids bring then in the classroom. What changed?
