Pearson seeks pot of gold in China

 

While the UK-based media group Pearson, which owns the Financial Times and Penguin, has been quick to embrace digital technology in its pursuit of new revenue streams, its US business is sizeable, with textbooks still an important element. 

 

Pearson has been reducing its reliance on US education by investing in its international education business, buying publishers and assessment businesses worldwide and taking the unusual step of opening English language schools in China.
