Call for manuscripts - Fall 2011

Notos is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to language  
learning and
teaching and intercultural competence. Its aim is to link the academy  
with the
classroom. The contents include research articles, reviews and practical
classroom strategies that are grounded in research.

The Journal invites manuscripts for its upcoming issue. We seek  
submissions
that:

* highlight the issues of culture and second languages in Canada  
(particularly
in Alberta)
* enhance the knowledge, skills and understanding of teachers in the  
areas of
second languages and culture;
* discuss existing practices, programs and resources;
* showcase research being done in Alberta on second languages, language
pedagogy, innovation in second languages and intercultural education;  
and
* offer advice and expertise to both in-service and pre-service language
teachers in the province of Alberta.

Submissions should be between 1500 and 5000 words (including a minimum  
of 5
references). Articles should be firmly grounded in current research.

In keeping with the mandate of the Council, articles appear in several  
languages


(preferably those languages taught in Alberta schools - i.e. French,  
Spanish,
German, Mandarin and Ukranian).

All submissions are triple-reviewed by the Editorial board, who  
reserve the
right to select those submissions they feel are
the most appropriate for the journal.

Deadline for Fall 2011 submissions is Friday, August 12, 2011.
