The Research Centre Literacy in Diversity Settings cordially invites you to our Welcome Symposium for Alexander von Humboldt Professor Ingrid Piller at the University of Hamburg!

In her trailblazing research, Ingrid Piller shows how linguistic practices make a decisive contribution to integration and identity formation in multicultural communities. For her outstanding achievements, she was honoured with the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship, which she took up at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hamburg. On May 16th 2025, we would like to celebrate this honour together and take a deeper look at the topics of linguistic diversity and social participation.
