Position Description

The Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi seeks
an Instructional Assistant Professor of Italian to begin January 2026. The
successful candidate will teach 9-12 hours per semester at all levels of
Italian language, literature, and culture. The successful candidate must
hold a Ph.D. in Italian or a related field, have native or near-native
proficiency in Italian, and demonstrate solid teaching experience. At the
same time, this person will also engage in student recruitment to and
promotion of the Italian program. While the position is non-tenure-track,
it is renewable annually with the possibility of promotions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Italian or a
related field, have native or near-native proficiency in Italian, and
demonstrate solid teaching experience.
