13th Annual Community-Based Heritage Language Schools Conference (October 2-3, 2026)

 
The Coalition of Community-Based Heritage Language Schools (https://www.heritagelanguageschools.org) is excited to host the 13th Annual Community-Based Heritage Language Schools Conference is on October 2-3, 2026 in Washington, DC! This event brings together everyone who is interested in learning about, collaborating with, and advocating for community-based HL schools. Participants typically include directors and administrators of community-based HL schools, teachers, members of the language communities, representatives of public schools, researchers in the field of HL education, and leaders of national language organizations.

 

The conference will be hybrid, held both on site at American University in Washington, DC and online on Friday and Saturday, October 2-3, 2026. All conference participants will receive the book Bridging Worlds: The Power of Heritage Languages in Social Cohesion. On-site participants will receive a hard copy of the book and online participants will get free access to the e-book.
