concurrent stimuli

Hi, I am new to ePrime and would like to know if will be possible to
implement the following:

I can currently present a continuous stream of sound files -
randomised for 4, 6, or 8 sec presentation.  At the same time I also
want to present a random character every 500ms. There is no need for
the timing of  this to be tightly coupled to the sound.

I see this as two parallel activities with their own individual timing
but ePrime seems to be designed to run a single serial stream.

Will it be possible to program this in ePrime?
