Nominations

Dear OSCLG community,****
Thanks for joining us in Tacoma to celebrate OSCLG's 35th Anniversary! We
engaged in productive sessions, enjoyed local entertainment and had many
opportunities to personally connect with scholars across the globe. Thanks
for your contribution to our celebration.****
** **
I hope you'll consider sharing your scholarship with us at this year's
conference in beautiful Houghton, Michigan. Our own Women & Language editor
Patricia Sotirin will be our conference host. Because we recognize the
added time and expense of travel to Houghton we have made a few adjustments
so you can join us. The conference will feature a condensed two-day format,
dramatically reduced registration fees and free transportation from the
airport to the hotel. Please see the OSCLG website for the conference
details at http://www.osclg.org . The deadline for submissions is June 1,
2013.
** **
Another way our community celebrates our commitment to exploring gender and
communication is to recognize outstanding work by our members. Please
consider submitting a nomination for our 2013 OSCLG Awards. See the Call
for Awards at the bottom of this message for details. ****
** **
We are also seeking nominations for OSCLG members to join our Board.
Serving on the Board is a great way to contribute to the OSCLG community.
Duties include contributing to Board governance, OSCLG policy, conference
site selection, chairing an awards committee and preparing and presenting
the awards report to the Board and at the business meeting. If you or
someone you know would like to be considered for election to the OSCLG
Board, please forward the following information to the Communication
Coordinator (coordinator at osclg.org): Name, Address, Email, Phone, photo,
and a brief paragraph on why you/s/he would like to serve. Nominations
close on April 23, 2013.
I am excited about this year's conference and hope to see you in Houghton!**

All my best,****
