Heather is in my opinion not a very
reliable book. When reading
Procopius one has to keep in mind
that it was written wit han immense
hatred of Theodora.

Wolfram is of course the most reliable.
After reading Felix Dahn, _Die Goten_
I am convinced that Amalaswintha brought
her fate upon herself. She was rightly
regarded as a traitor by the Gothic nobility
in her dealings with Byzantium. The Ostro-
gothic kingdom was however on its way down
already, but she accelerated the demise.
